Our Team
Meet our Founder. Three decades of leadership in conservation finance.
Founder & CEO
Cheri Sugal
Cheri created IGP with the vision of scaling early financing available for the development of Nature-based Solutions. She brings 30 years of experience financing conservation and generating carbon assets with on-the-ground experience in 70+ countries.
She has deep experience in delivering projects in emerging markets, with governments, NGOs, communities, and the private sector, and in financial structuring to facilitate early private financing into emission reduction projects.
IGP's founder brings three decades of experience across the globe
Cheri has spent three decades designing, financing, and scaling nature-based conservation programs across more than 70 countries — most of them in the global south. Early in her career, she created the pioneering USD 100 million fund at Conservation International's Global Conservation Fund. Under her leadership, it supported the creation and management of over 100 million hectares of new protected areas. She then served as Director for Latin America and Africa at Terra Global Capital, where she designed Nature-based Solutions projects across both continents. Built through participatory design with indigenous and local stakeholders, those projects have been successfully validated and are delivering carbon credits today.
Cheri has advised national governments and the World Bank on capital deployment and benefit sharing design for National & Jurisdictional REDD+ programs in Colombia, Mexico, Guyana, Cambodia, and Zambia. She went on to lead project structuring and financing as Head of Structured Finance at South Pole, deploying tens of millions of dollars of early-stage capital into high-integrity Nature-based Solutions for investors and corporates. She also founded Imperative Global Group and served as its Chief Investment Officer.
Now, as CEO and Founder of Integrity Global Partners, Cheri brings this full-arc experience — from on-the-ground project design to institutional capital deployment — to unlocking finance for nature at scale.
