Blended portfolios can combine projects with earlier carbon issuance—such as REDD+ and household energy interventions—with longer-duration activities such as afforestation and reforestation. Combining different project types, development timelines and issuance profiles can help create more consistent credit generation across the portfolio while diversifying project and delivery risk.
We also encourage integrating projects with multiple revenue streams, including agroforestry, sustainable agriculture and tree crops. These activities can generate commercial revenues alongside carbon revenues, expanding the financing options available to the portfolio and reducing reliance on carbon finance alone.
